Registering for Classes with Working Well Massage Once a class is scheduled, you may pay for the course by mailing a check or money order to Working Well Massage at 325 W Huron, Suite 308, Chicago, IL 60654. Or you may pay for the class with credit card via Paypal. Make sure you include the name of the class and the dates you will be attending. Note: Classes with less than 4 students registered one week before the class is to be held will be canceled. These classes may not be taken by non-massage therapists.
Ethics and Boundary Issue for Experienced BodyworkersClass Description: This interactive class will make ethics understandable and interesting. The class will give students practical techniques to use to set boundaries in common massage situations. In this course, students will review and apply ethical guidelines of the national massage organization (AMTA, ABMP and NCBTMB), discuss scope of practice issues, confidentiality and sexual boundaries. The class will include discussion of the complaint by a massage therapist against Al Gore and the latest issues in our profession regarding boundaries and ethics. 6 CE Hours When: Saturday January 21, 2012, from 12 Noon to 6p.m.

Marketing to Create a Successful Bodywork BusinessClass Description: This class is a massage marketing class for those new to the massage world and also for those that want to expand their private practices. We cover goal setting, target marketing and relationship building, competitive analysis and price setting. We also discuss client retention strategies and how use to social media along with print media to reach potential clients. This class is taught as a workshop so you will be working on your own marketing plan in the class. At the end of the class you should come away with a basic marketing plan to expand your own practice.
Advanced Chair Massage Techniques–Beyond A One-Size Fits All ApproachClass Description: This class will teach you how to go beyond a set chair massage routine. You will learn how to “talk” to the client’s tissue, how to use positional release techniques, sports massage and stretching techniques to give clients a therapeutic massage…in a chair. We will also cover how to work pectoral muscles on a massage chair, and how to address orthostatic hypotension and fainting as well as how to convert chair massage clients into table massage clients. This is a very hands on class with plenty of opportunity to practice. Bring water and snacks to keep you energized! When: TBA |
